Freeze Cracking of Intake Manifold

Late Production 1996 (NC) and All 1997 (LK) 4.3 Litre Engines

Late production 1996 (NC) 4.3 Litre engines, with the suffix letter "S", and 1997 (LK) 4.3 Litre engines have a water-cooled intake manifold that requires draining before off-season storage. Failure to properly drain the intake manifold could result in freeze damage to the intake manifold.

(1)(2) There is a pipe plug @ located at the front of the intake manifold. Remove the plug and lower the bow of the boat to ensure complete drainage of the intake manifold. Replace the plug after draining the intake. Tighten the plug securely.
